The terms personal data and personal data protection have accopmanied ordinary social life of people in the Czech Republic only for several years. In the area of personal data protection it is necessary to receive measures to prevent misuse of personal data and thereby to avoid resulting sanction. Problems of personal data protection is complicated, discussion and polemics are held even in media.

Miženková, Martina. Protection of personal data and privacy of employees in practice in a business company. Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The diploma thesis deals with the protection of personal data. As part of the literature search, the issue of personal data protection, basic terms, rights and obligations of the parties involved, or sanctions threatened in the event of their violation based on the General Regulation. As part of the practical part of the thesis, the protection of personal data in the selected company is evaluated in practice during individual phases of the employment relationship. On the basis of the analysis, deficiencies that are not in accordance with the current legislation are assessed. Subsequently, on the basis of the results of the analysis of personal data protection in the company, appropriate recommendations are proposed, the financial complexity is calculated at the end of the thesis.

This Diploma thesis investigates protection of privacy and personal data. In the literary research it is dedicated to embedding of the current legislation on the protection of personal data, privacy, the rights and obligations of involved parties and the consequences of their violations. The work itself deals with processes for handling personal data at the workplace in selected business company. The pro-cessing of personal data during the entire life cycle of the employment is ana-lyzed. Next section of the thesis is also devoted to the processing of personal data and the proper fullfilment of the predefined obligations. The work is also devoted to the protection of the employee's privacy and the protection of the employer's ownership rights. In the conclusion, corrective measures are proposed, based on identified deficiencies.
GDPR implementation in selected European schools

This bachelor thesis deals with a comparison of the implementation of the European Data Protection Regulation or GDPR in selected European schools. The thesis is divided into theory and research investigation. The theoretical part focuses first on the general meaning of data protection, on the definition of the basic concepts of the GDPR and tries to get acquainted with the set legal framework, the current legislation and the principles of data protection. Furthermore, the theoretical part highlights how the General Data Protection Regulation is anchored in educational institutions. The implementation of the GDPR in education is Based on a literature search, qualitative research is conducted in the form of interviews with selected respondents. These are a Czech and a Spanish Data Protection Officer who have been appointed by the selected school to provide advice on the processing of personal data and to ensure compliance with the obligations arising from Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Problematic Aspects of Personal Data Protection

The thesis consists of five chapters, introduction and conclusion. The author of the thesis deals with introduction to the problematics of personal data protection and its relevance in the contemporary world in the introduction of the diploma thesis as well as with demarcation of the aims of the work. In the first chapter, the basic sources of legislation in the area of personal data protection are demarcated, both in Czech and in European and international level. In the second chapter, the attention is paid to the basics of the legislation in the area of personal data protection, whereas the author deals with demarcation of basic concepts, in the second subchapter she gives an overview of basic principles of personal data processing and in the third subchapter she summarizes legal titles for personal data processing. The institute of Data Protection Officer within the meaning of General Regulation is analysed in the third chapter. The first subchapter deals with demarcation of cases where the processor is obliged to designate the Data Protection Officer. The primary aim of this dissertation thesis is to present a comprehensive analysis of the issue of personal data protection in the Czech Republic with regard to the regulation in the EU. The secondary goal of this work is to explore the historical genesis and material sources of the issue in question. The core information sources from which the thesis draws represent laws, judicial decisions, official documents and Czech/foreign expert literature. In order to achieve the objectives of the work, the methods that are generally applicable in the field of legal science were used. Therefore the method of description (including classification), analysis and synthesis is mostly applied. The dissertation consists of seven chapters. After a short introduction, it begins with a sociological treatise on the importance of the protection of personal data in the 21st century. Privacy is currently an important topic in the light of the rapid development of information and communication technologies which have been developing since the second half of the 20th century and burgeoned since the turn of the century. This rigorous thesis deals with the protection of personal data. This is an issue relating to each of us, thereby personal data and its protection becomes very significant legal phenomenon. The thesis includes alongside the initial part, where a concept of personal data and a sense of its protection is described, also treatise on historical development of international law on protection of personal data and on constitutional ground too. The largest part is devoted to the Act on the Protection of Personal Data and its legal regulation of protection of personal data, which is also the main formal source of its legislation. It is followed by the part dedicated to the protection of personal data according to selected special laws. And the last part of the thesis is a treatise on the possibilities of judicial protection. The thesis strives for comprehensive and thoroughgoing analysis of protection of personal data in terms of generally binding legal regulations, and for the identification of weaknesses in the legislation on protection of personal data, as well as for its clear and logical submission eligible also for use of law laymen.

This diploma thesis deals with the surveillance and private data protection. The first part brings into the focus the theoretical definition of surveillance and the areas in which it is applied. Important role in this thesis has also it's historical development. For example there will be introduced the historical resolution according to David Lyon to premodern, modern and postmodern surveillance, Michel Foucault's view on the surveillance of the state over it's citizens or society of control of Gilles Deleuze. The second part of this thesis will move to concepts as personal data and their protection. I will define what privacy and personal data means and what is it's value to each of us. This thesis will continue with current legal aspects not only in the Czech Republic but within whole European union.
